Anthony Miles has been producing, directing, shooting and editing video and films in the Phoenix, AZ Metro area since 1992. With years of experience Anthony understands deadlines and believes in the collaborative creative process. Anthony Miles is comfortable working in collaboration with other producers, directors, writers and ad agencies. Anthony Miles has produced and directed over 150 Television commercials, hundreds of promotional and training videos and several short films as well as being the Director of Photography on a feature film currently in distribution, another in post and a feature documentary currently selling on DVD with a sold out theatrical premiere.

We firmly believe the best standard definition video productions starts on high definition with high definition source footage. High definition video has much better resolution and better dynamic range or better contrast reproduction for a more natural looking image. Progressive scan high definition video also gives you the ability to crop, scale and stabilize your footage with little to no noticeable problems when finishing your video or HD movie production in standard definition. This can also save an edit where there wasn't a budget for 2 cameras HD gives you the ability to zoom or punch in for a quick cut away or close up from a medium shot if needed. We now have the Sony PMW EX1 Cine Alta High definition video camera systems or Canon XH-A1 and XL-H1 Canon HDV cameras available as a part of our production packages. Edit your next production in high definition at 4th Wall TV and Film Productions. XDCAM HD yields very high quality and is more affordable than traditional high definition formats. This is a great format for independent film makers and documentary film makers that would like to possibly make the jump to the high definition video production but are limited to a DV budget. We recommend shooting XDCAM EX HD or even HDV for the benefits then editing on Apple ProRes 422 HQ to keep the quality as high as possible. Sony

The EX1 shoots at 1080i, 1080p & 720p in 24, 25, 50, 60 frames per second great for shooting NTSC in the USA and for PAL formats for projects from overseas as well.

The Brevis 35 mm cinema lens adapter and "Brevis FLIP" unit are available now at 4th Wall Productions, LLC. The Brevis 35 & Flip allow for using 35 mm lenses on HD video cameras with upright image viewing. This allows creative control over depth of field and field of view, emulating the look and feel of a more film like image than available with HD video cameras without this set up. This along with custom gamma curves and knee, enhance the HD video images taking on more film like characteristics sought after by those who prefer the softer more cinematic look of motion picture film. Our Indie Film package includes the Sony PMW EX1 high definition video camera, Cartoni tripod, Brevis 35 with flip, Red Rock Micro Deluxe matte box, carbon fiber support rails, Nikon or Canon 35 mm lenses, follow focus, field monitor and dolly. B reak The Chain of Child Abuse Charity Break-a-thon on 5-19-07.
Anthony Miles recently created a national charity promo video and theater screen advertisement to help promote the Break the Chain of Child Abuse foundation, charity Break-a-thon event. The Arizona branch of the event happened on May 19th, 2007. The Break-A-Thon was organized by 6th Degree Black Belt, USA Martial Arts Master John Nottingham, and will included martial arts demonstrations and board and brick breaking suitable for the whole family to enjoy. "GYM WORLD"
Filled with gags and hilarious moments, Gym World is s 33 page short comedy film written and directed by James Penland and produced by Joe Homokay & Ryan Korte. Gym World is sure to be a viral sensation on the internet and at film festivals. Good, Bad or Ugly, people will be talking about Gym World. Anthony Miles served as director of photography and consultant to the first time film makers. GYM WORLD was shot at World Gym in Glendale, Arizona on XHA1, XHG1 and the XLH1 Canon HDV camcorders with the Brevis 35 mm adapter. 4th Wall Productions, LLC is completing post.
"Angels, Devils & Men" feature film.
Produced and directed by Lindsay Craig Shonteff this political and religious satire came to the screen via Director of Photography Anthony Miles's eye. Jared Wilson & Lee Lusby were called upon as Gaffer and Key grip. Working with Production manager Lewis Herrera was a blast. the production was able to keep ahead of schedule thanks to the experience of veteran director Lindsay Shonteff , the great crew & cast and the workflow & flexibility of the high quality Sony's HDW F900 Cine Alta high definition 24p camera system. This is Lindsay Shonteff's last film, as he passed away after the last day of shooting in England. The film is currently in post production.

Recently Anthony Miles taught a lighting seminar for a room full of local Phoenix area film makers. Topics included 3 point lighting and dramatic lighting for mood and effect, as well as guerilla filmmaking tips to lighting.

Working with Director Frank Michael's and DP Steve Wargo, Anthony MIies acted as lighting director/Gaffer on the feature film "The Controller", entertainment for the whole family it is a suspense based thriller. The Controller is a breakout independent feature full of CG and great live action visuals. Working closely with Controversial pictures DP Steve Wargo, and director Huw Bowen of the LA film school, Anthony MIies acted as Lighting director/Gaffer on the feature film titled "The Hoax" or "The Alien Hoax". Shot by veteran DP Steve Wargo on the HDW F-900 1080 24p Cine Alta HD motion picture camera system. This film is currently in post production at Show-n-Tell Productions in Tempe, AZ.
Screen Wars
Working closely with Phoenix Film Project Co-chair, Julie Holman, and Independent film maker Joe Gruberman, Anthony Miles acted as Director of Photography on 5 episodes of "Screen Wars" The ultimate television show for independent film makers. Anthony brought the Drama series to the screen, featuring hosts, Amanda Melby and Laura Durant.

Thanks to the Producers of the hit local TV show, "Screen Wars for the opportunity to participate in the action film production segment aired on 6-11-05. Anthony Miles and his film "the Package" were featured in the "how to" create action on film segment. The segment featured Anthony's tips to new film makers and a 1.5 minute segment from the climax of the film "The Package", Featuring martial arts action, gun play, explosions and all the fair of low budget action films, including rescuing the girl. This film is not the film with Gene Hackman. Warning: this film contains violence and very brief nudity.

The documentary film was shot on location at the international UFO congress in Laughlin, Nevada. On location at the X-conference in Washington, DC and in Phoenix,Glendale, Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona on the Sony HVR Z1U HDV camera system.

The Story:
"Fight For Life" is an action/martial arts film that is focused on the human drama surrounding a family tragedy, and the growth process that the family goes through in an effort to keep the family business running and the family together. On a quest for the money needed to pay his dying fathers heavy medical bills and keep the family martial arts school out of bankruptcy, "Jesse Bender" gets sucked into the world of underground fighting. This is a heartfelt story of one man's journey to carry the family burden.
